Ansell's Commitment to Net Zero by 2045

A Science-based Sustainability Goal

Ansell has committed to achieving net‑zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by FY2045. This commitment has been
validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), ensuring it is aligned with climate science and global decarbonisation goals.

What is Net Zero?

Net zero refers to balancing the greenhouse gas emissions produced with those that are removed or offset, so the overall impact on the
climateis effectively zero. Ansell began this journey in 2022 by setting a target to reach Net Zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2040:

  • Scope 1 emissions - direct emissions from own operations
  • Scope 2 emissions - indirect emissions from purchased energy e.g. electricity
  • Scope 3 emissions - emissions across the entire value chain. Ansell’s 2045 Net Zero target for Scope 3 has been approved by the SBTi

Clear Targets with Real Accountability

To stay on track, Ansell has set measurable milestones:

  • 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by FY2030
  • 25% reduction in selected Scope 3 emissions by FY2030
  • 90% of suppliers by spend to have science‑based targets in place by FY2030
  • Longer term, Ansell aims to reduce operational emissions by 90% by FY2040 and value‑chain emissions by 90% by FY2045.
